Our goal at Fusion Dance Company is to pass to our students, the love of dance and exercise in a safe, friendly and fun environment, to give each of our students the confidence to believe in themselves, and to provide classes to all ages. We believe that proper dance technique is extremely important; however, to be a successful dancer you also have to unite passion, dedication, and desire.
All classes will focus on flexibility, coordination, rhythm, balance, self-expression, confidence, terminology, core & muscle strengthening, musicality, and memory.
Fusion Dance Company is offering a creative, challenging and fun opportunity for young dancers ages 4- 11 this summer! We will have a week long dance camp for ages 7-11 and a mini dance camp ages 4-6. Fusion Dance Camp leads students through a series of movement and fine arts studies including ballet, jazz, pom, hip hop, tap, acro, and lyrical. We also introduce the students to vocabulary, history, music, and anatomy as it relates to dance.
This combination class for the young dancer includes ballet, jazz, yoga, and creative movement. Through this enjoyable educational experience, students will learn to use dance as a creative means of self-expression. This class introduces a structured environment while allowing children to recognize their own individuality and body mobility. Focus is on coordination and rhythm introduced in creative and imaginative ways. In this combo class the dancers will learn the importance of taking turns and working together. Your young dancer will gain an understanding of dance concepts and terminology. Keeping students entertained while learning beginning dance skills will help them to acquire a lifelong love for dance. Children must be potty-trained to attend this class.
This combination class for dancers ages 6-11 includes ballet and jazz. Warm up each class with ballet barre exercises to introduce ballet technique, increase flexibility with stretching, learn new leaps, turns and across the floor combinations, and finish jazz and ballet choreography perfect for this age group and all levels.
Ages 12 & Up
Level 1A - A student's introduction and mixture of dance styles, this class gives you the best of everything. Starting with ballet barre exercises to work on technique, then a good stretch to increase flexibility, learn new leaps, turns and across the floor combinations, and finish with jazz and lyrical/contemporary choreography. This class is designed for those that are new to formal dance training or out of practice. Great way to get training if you want to be on high school dance team!
Level 1B - Requirements for this class is the same as Dance Fusion Level 1A plus at least 1 year of ballet or jazz training - 12 years or older.
Level 2 - Requirements for this class is to have a minimum of 2 recent year of ballet training or 3 years of ballet or jazz training - 12 years or older. This class will be doing the same as level 1 with more difficulty and learning at a much faster pace.
Graceful formal ballet barre combinations are introduced with ballet terminology. Concentrating on ballet positions of arms, legs, and feet. We will focus on balance, core strengthening, flexibility, and skill building. Coordination and musicality will be emphasized. Some classes may learn lyrical choreography.
Acrobatics teaches flexibility, balance, strength, muscle control, discipline & concentration. This class will focus on fundamental acrobatic technique. Students will learn such things as handstands, chin stands, elbow stands, cartwheels, back bends, walkovers, balance, & contortion tricks. Acro is not the typical tumbling or gymnastics class. This class is great for students looking to enhance their agility, flexibility, & strength.
Introduction to the basic vocabulary and style of hip hop movement. Hip Hop is about personal style and expression. This high energy style can be taught to anyone with a passion to move, so no dance experience is required. Students will use hip-hop to develop their coordination, rhythm, flexibility and self-expression.
From Broadway to Rock N' Roll. This upbeat style concentrates on technique, terminology, and choreography. Most jazz combinations will be movement across the floor. Jazz is fast-paced and fun for all dancers. Students will use jazz to develop their coordination, rhythm, flexibility and self-expression.
A style seen performed by high school dance teams. Pom is a class designed to introduce dancers to the basics of proper jazz dance technique while including the sharp synchronized movements and visual effects of working with pom poms! For those students looking towards trying out for cheer and dance team, this class translates into these competitive performance styles. Class curriculum will include a proper warm-up and stretches, jazz, kickline, turn, leap, jump and Pom technique with concentration on complete and correct execution of motions. We will create fun, high energized Pom routines.
An introduction to tap dance. Students will learn the basics of tap, and focus on understanding music and rhythm. The rhythm and movement of tap, created by the metal taps on the heels and toes of a dancer’s shoes, transforms the dancer into a percussive musician. Tap dance emphasizes the flow of movement by teaching the dancer to find rhythms and beats not only in music but in their own bodies.
Experience the joy of movement and creative expression while learning the fundamentals of classical ballet. Classes are designed for adult students who either have no formal ballet training or who have studied ballet in the past and wish to resume training. Emphasis in class will be on correct placement, body alignment, toning, and stretching.
Discover the fun of jazz dancing while improving your flexibility, agility and muscle tone. Exercise the mind as well as the body while learning fun combinations to a variety of music genres. Students will learn the fundamentals of each style such as isolations and flexibility. This class also infuses the funky style of hip hop with the technical side of jazz. This class will encourage students to dance outside of the box and bring their own personality to each movement.
ballet barre (adults)
Experience the fundamentals of Ballet. This class is for those interested in learning and practicing basic ballet technique. This is a great choice for those who already are taking a ballet class but would like to take more than one class per week. All emphasis will be on correct placement, body alignment, toning and stretching. No formal ballet training required. Beginners welcome. This class does not perform in the recital.
This is a technique class that is dedicated to learning, improving, and perfecting technique in jumps, kicks, turns, etc. Classes will be designed to help each dancer identify and work on specific techniques and skills needed to improve their understanding and performance of these specific moves. Stretch and strengthening is also combined to improve dancers’ power. The strength and conditioning is designed to build stamina and condition the body for difficult tricks and aerobic requirements needed for advanced dancing. There will be no recital dance for this class. Students must be enrolled for a dance class to coincide with the skills class in the same session.
Yes, you can dance! Tired of working out? It's time to work it!We break down the moves step-by-step, as you go, so you can learn them, repeat them until you are comfortable, then put a sequence together, then bust out a full routine to songs from the CIZE playlist. You will be completely amazed at how good you do and how great you feel! Don't call it a workout. But great dancing the way we've designed it is hard work. The more you get into it, the more you'll get out of it. You WILL drip sweat. And you WON'T stop moving. Performing these pulse-pounding, thrilling routines is serious cardiovascular conditioning, core strengthening, and overall muscle toning—all at once.
FLEXIBILITY IN MOTION
Targeted exercises and stretches designed to increase flexibility, range of motion, balance and core stability designed for dancers or anyone interested in increased flexibility and stability. Increasing flexibility in the back as well as hips and hamstrings.
Ballet Fit (Adults)
This ballet-based workout combines the traditional barre work of ballet with exercises more commonly performed in Pilates and yoga classes. It is aimed at increasing flexibility, strength, body awareness, and balance. By focusing on the elongation of the muscles, participants can channel their inner dancer without having to learn complex choreography. No dance experience necessary. Great class for all experience levels from beginners to advanced dancers.
PiYo is a hybrid, athletic workout, which combines the mind/body practices of yoga and Pilates, as well as the principles of stretch, strength training, conditioning and dynamic movement. During a PiYo class, you will find yourself standing in a yoga pose one minute, and down on the floor in a Pilates pose the next! PiYo can be described as a hyper version of yoga, but with the benefits of deep breathing, balance, stretching, strengthening and relaxation. And to top it all off, the music is awesome!
